It's the Final Countdown!

Less than a week until I head to Australia & NZ for almost 6 weeks! My new client coordinator Kristy will be handling email and bookings while I'm gone, but if you specifically need to talk to me about anything you better do it soon. I'll have occasional email access while I'm there, but I'm not spending my vacation tied to the computer :)

My friend Sarah put together this lovely collage of the 5 of us that are going:

Going clockwise from the left, we have Jaime (who likes to run), Ben (who apparently has a lot of money, haha), Katie (who I haven't met yet), Sarah (with the surfboard), and I'm in the middle with what appears to be a left-handed digital rebel... Down in the corner with the balloons we have party boy Corey, who we've decided we need to track down to help us out with Sarah's 25th birthday while we're there, haha :) If you haven't seen him on the news, check out the video below:

Meaghan + Sam

Last weekend I headed to Bend for Meaghan and Sam's engagement session - in the snow! We ended up doing the shoot at Shevlin Park/Aspen Hall, where their wedding will be held this June. Needless to say it was pretty cold outside, so we actually didn't spend a lot of time - especially after I kept making them sit on wet surfaces, haha!

Here are just a few, it'll be interesting to compare these to the summer photos at the same location :)

This one just cracks me up

Samantha

Last week I met up with Samantha for a quick senior portrait session - she currently holds the record for the senior who's traveled the farthest for their session, coming up to Corvallis from Rogue River (about 200 miles away)! Okay so she was also here to tour Oregon State (go Beavs!), but she could have chosen someone much closer to home so let me have my moment :)

It was pouring outside, but we managed to find a spot to get some shots for the yearbook. We'll be doing an actual outdoor photo session this spring, which I'm already looking forward to - she's very photogenic!

101 in 1001

I've never been into New Year's resolutions - I don't think I've ever made one, and if I did it was probably something like "become 6 inches taller." This year I decided to create a list of "101 things to do in 1001 days," as better described here.

I'll mark off completed tasks in this entry as I make progress. Right now it's in completely random order, maybe someday I'll organize it into categories but I wouldn't count on it. Without further ado, here's the list!

Start date: 1.6.08
End date: 10.3.10

Kacy Jo's 101 in 1001 (in no particular order) - completed items in turquoise

1. Solve a Rubik's cube
2. Visit New York City at Christmas time
3. Stay at a hotel with a round bed
4. Volunteer for the Humane Society
5. Go on a cruise
6. Buy the 50mm 1.2L
7. Buy an iMac
8. Pay off my truck
9. Pet a kangaroo
10. Have personal photos printed and put in albums
11. Send Christmas cards
12. Buy a house
13. Watch the Bourne series
14. Have a new logo designed
15. Learn to cook... something
16. Disneyland (for only the 14th time)
17. Live somewhere that can act as a place to meet clients
18. Can't say here or I'll ruin it :)

21. Visit Alaska
22. Throw an 80's prom
23. Severely downsize all of the "stuff" that sits in closets, sell/donate
24. Go to bed by 11pm for a full week
25. Get out of bed by 7am for a full week
26. Give tomatoes (which I despise) an honest try
27. Dance on the bar at Coyote Ugly (just for you Suzy!)
28. Take the train to a Seattle Seahawks game
29. Send flowers to someone at their work
30. Get a boating license

63. Convince someone else to make one of these lists so they can appreciate how long I took to write it

Print Order Blackout

Photobucket

Happy New Year!!

I hope that everyone had a great holiday season!

I wanted to make everyone aware of an upcoming "print order blackout," for lack of a better term. I will be gone visiting Australia and New Zealand from February 1st thru March 11th, and will be unable to process orders during that time.

If you want or need to receive any prints before March 31st, they must be ordered by midnite on January 16th! Orders received after this date won't be processed until I return, and won't be delivered to your door until early April.

All expired galleries have been re-launched with a new expiration date of January 16th, so if you want a few more prints here's your chance! Click here to view galleries.

Please email me at kacy@kacyjo.com if you have any questions!
