Hoppy Halloween!

I haven't found any more Halloween photos from the past lately so here's one of the ones I posted two years ago. I'm the cowgirl, my sister Miranda is the plastic frog queen... or something...

Morgan

Awhile back I asked Morgan to put her wedding dress back on and come out with me for another shoot - we got to do it a few weeks ago, here are a few of my favorites!

Morgan jumped in this box and declared herself a mail-order bride, haha :)

Thanks Morgan!

Very nice bridal shots. I like the simplicity and the 'pure' feel...

Krista

Krista was so cute, we did her session at the farm last week and the weather turned out perfect. I love her glasses, almost makes me wish I didn't have perfect vision :)

Sidenote, that vine-covered building behind her in the last 2 shots was the "hideout" for my friends and I back in our much, much younger days. If you went in there today I'm pretty sure you'll still find "KK + JTT" doodled everywhere. And "SN + JTT," (sorry Ms. Nolan, gotta give your students some ammunition! haha) "LE + JTT" ..... we had a problem, I don't want to talk about it :)

And yes I'm over it, I think he's still super short and I have an 'over 6 foot' rule ;)

Open House Recap

Thank you to everyone who came out last Thursday for our open house! We had a great turnout, I would guesstimate over 75 people showed up - it was probably the free beer :)

A few images from the photo booth:

Melissa and Jenny, both photographers from Albany -

Myself and one of my best dude-friends, Ben - don't we look pretty?

Jeff (the man in charge) and I -

Lainie and Jeff posing w/ MOM magazine, the editors dropped by and I don't think they realized they were leaving us with a new prop! :)

I'll keep everyone posted on future get-togethers. Thanks again to those who came, it was fun to see everyone!

Just in case anyone was wondering what I'm doing this fine Friday evening.... just finished editing Kristen's photos! I'm also watching Oprah, and my cat is next to me on the couch. Hmmm....

Brian

I'm on a senior blog posting roll today, hence the last few posts having zero words... What can I say, it's tough work putting thoughts into sentences and sometimes I just don't have the time :P

But here's my fav part of the conversation w/ Brian last Saturday:

Me: Isn't the homecoming dance tonite?
Brian: Yeah but I'm going to the Duck game.
Me: Ohhh you're gonna disappoint all the ladies??
Brian: Well my girlfriend's going with me.

Hahaha. My kind of people - except for the Duck part :)

I don't know whose dog this is but it made a cute prop for a second, haha!

Open House - October 23rd

I'm part of a new shared office/meeting space in downtown Corvallis and we're having an open house October 23rd (Thursday) from 4pm-8pm. Everyone is welcome to drop by and say hi! I'll have albums and other products on display, and there'll be a drawing for some giveaways - I'm giving a free portrait session, Jeff (the man in charge and a graphic designer) is giving free business card design, Lainie is giving an hour of marketing consulting, and the other members better think of something to add to the pot! :)

Jeff is looking for a few more members, so if you or anyone you know are interested in joining it'd be a great chance to check it out - It's a great space for those self-employed in a creative industry to get out of the house and get work done without all the distractions of home, as well as have a meeting place for clients that isn't a noisy coffee shop :)

The address is 459 SW Madison Ave, Corvallis, OR 97333 - Right on the corner of 5th and Madison (sounds very big city, doesn't it?).

Quick rundown:

When: Thursday, October 23rd, 4pm-8pm
Where: Madison Avenue Collective, 459 SW Madison Ave, Corvallis, OR 97333
Food: Snacks will be catered by Cloud 9
Drinks: Oregon Trail Brewery, plus other stuff for those of us who think beer tastes like compost.

We'll also have a photo booth set up, and I'm in charge of music so watch out! I promised Jeff minimal country, but lots of gangster rap. You'll have to show up to see if I'm serious :)

We're trying to keep a general head count for food and drink purposes, RSVPs aren't required but try to shoot me an email at kacy@kacyjo.com if you're planning on coming!

October Sessions

Happy October! Just wanted to make a quick announcement that I'll only be booking 3 more sessions for this month to allow plenty of room for rescheduling due to... rain. :( You can check out the calendar on the portrait half of my web site to see when I'm available this month, but just know that shoots are likely to be moved around because of the weather!

On a similar note, tourism must be down in Hawaii because I keep getting emails for amazing deals on airfare and vacations from Hawaiian Air (airfare is half of what it was when I went in July) - So if anyone decides they'd like to shoot a session over there and take me along, I'm up for that as well ;)

No one has been brave enough to book November or December sessions yet (can't blame you, I'd avoid it myself!), but for those wanting to give it a try I'm limiting sessions to 8 per month over the winter.

Lastly, I don't like posting without photos so here's another from Laura and Paul's wedding back in July. Facebook informed me that it's Laura's birthday today, so happy birthday Laura! :)
